TANGIER — Mrs. Mabel M. Grimes, 68-year-old former resident of this community, died Friday morning in Putnam County Hespital at Greencastle. She had been a patient there one day. Mrs. Grimes, a native of Parke County, resided in the Tangier area until 1941 until she moved to Fillmore. She was born Oct. 6, 1897, north of Rockville, daughter of Oscar H. and Martha Harvey Norman. She was married to John B. Grimes, who survives. Mrs. Grimes was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Howad, Ind., and Rebekah Lodge, Garden Club and Service Club, all of Fillmore. Survivors in addition to the husband include her mother, Mrs. Martha Norman of Tangier; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Gossett of Coatsville and Mrs. Lucille Bunten of Fillmore; a son, Dallas of Coatsville; two brothers, Ward H. Norman of Tangier and R. Morris Norman of New Market; a sister, Mrs. Beulah M. Cole of Lafayette; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle, Burial will be in Parke County. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.  --typed by Walt W
